OUR DAILY PRAYERS

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed by thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you;
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Glory Prayer

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen.

The Angelus

L: The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary:
R: And she conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
Hail Mary....

R: Be it done to me according to your word.
Hail Mary....

L: And the Word became flesh:
R: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary....

L: Pray for us, O Hly mother of God:
R: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

L: Let us Pray:
Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord,
your grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, your Son,

Hail, Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, the children of Eve; to you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this land of exile. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us; lead us home at last and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus: O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you do I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Morning Prayer

God, I praise you for giving me this new day.
I praise you for giving me life today.
I ask your blessing on all that I do and say. Amen.

Night Prayer

O God, thank you for all the good things I did today.
Bless all the people who helped me today.
Thank you for giving me life.
Forgive me for whatever I did wrong today.
Protect me through the night. Amen.

Guardian Angel

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
Whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day (night) be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Grace Before Meals

Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts,
which we are about to receive from your bounty.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grace After Meals

We give you thanks for all your gifts, almighty God,
living and reigning now and for ever. Amen.

Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.

The “I Confess”

I confess to Almighty God,
and to you my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned
through my own fault,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
and I ask Blessed Mary, ever Virgin,
all the angels and saints,
and to you my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
